As the sales volume of BYD auto delined 11% according to CAAM in the first half, how do you think about the left month sales?
The shipment decline a little the the first half, but the sales keep increasing in the first half due to a better product mix. In first half, the F0 and F6 model decline a lot, which drag the total sales volume in the period, but the G6 and S6 model keep growing and take a big share in the product mix. Looking forward, the shipment of BYD auto may be flat or something, but the revenue contribution from Speed should emerging in second half.

At present we import mostly the lithium resource, and particularly import from US company. For battery, it consist of anode, cathode, electrolyte and separator. Normally the anode take 20-30% of total cost or something, and lithium take a certain percentage of anode. It differs between different plant.
How about the range and charging time of your EV models?
Now BYD have 3 EV models which are K9, the e-bus and e6, the e-taxi and the F3DM, a plug-in hybrid model for individual consumers. Then range for K9 is roughly 200km per charge and 300km for e6. For fast charge, it takes 3 hours for K9 to full charge and 1.5 hours for e6. For slow charge, it takes 8 hour for e6 to full charge, and it’s convenient with any household outlet. For fast charge, you need a professional charging station.
What’s the cost of charge infrastructure and how many in Shenzhen now?
The cost for charging pole, which is used for normal charge, is just several thousand, and the cost of charging station, which is used for fast charge, is cost 1or 2 million RMB, as many professional equipment need. According to the information outside, there are 50-60 charging station in Shenzhen and thousands charging pole.
Any support from the government to spur the EV industry and what your choice for EV?
Months before the central government release the EV industry development plan for coming 5-10 years, which define the focus of EV on pure electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid. And the pure electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid is also the choice of BYD to develop EV product. For policy support, take e6 as example, e6 sold at 300 thousand RMB and the government give a subsidy of 120 thousand, which means the consumer just pay 180 thousand to buy the car.
Beside the plan to reduce dependence on import oil and apply more new energy, is there any other reason for the government to support pure electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid?
For normal hybrid, some oversea makers have developed for many year, it’s very hard for Chinese maker to compete with them. But for pure electric vehicle and plug-in hybrid, Chinese maker stand in a same level with oversea brand, even higher, it’s a substantial chance for Chinese makers to outperform oversea brand and change the auto industry which are controlled by oversea brand now.
